Description

2016 GAMMON’S CROSSING CABERNET SAUVIGNON

REGION: Coonawarra

VARIETY: 100% single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from our own vineyard.

HARVEST: The grapes were machine picked in the first week of April.

VINTAGE NOTES: Fabulous early rains set the scene in the winter of 2014 for above average soil moisture to allow the vines to glide in to Spring.  Spring was quite dry with little wind, which was ideal for an even fruit set.  An excellent January rain made conditions ideal for the fruit to ripen, combined with warm days and cooler nights, which then allowed nature to provide us with an excellent crop full of intense colour and varietal definition.

ALC/VOL: 15%

NOTES: This is a typical Flints of Coonawarra Cabernet, beautifully balanced and rich in colour, with a great nose and length of palate. This wine has matured in French Oak for twenty months prior to bottling, and let lay for a further eight months to maximise the full fruit flavours. This wine can be enjoyed right now, but will also cellar well over the ensuing years.
